Effective date: 5/12/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Explorer’s Log (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use Explorer’s Log , available at https://explorerslog.net and any related pages, features, and services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, profile image, and account identifiers.
- Authentication information, such as information needed to sign you in and maintain account access.
- User content, such as tracker entries, journal entries, settings, uploaded images, and other content you submit through the Service.
- Device and browser-stored information, such as data saved in local storage when you use the Service in preview or logged-out mode.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location inferred from IP address, pages visited, timestamps, referrers, and basic diagnostic or security logs, if your site or hosting environment records them.
2. Google Sign-In Data
If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive limited information from your Google account, which may include:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your Google account identifier; and
- your profile image, if made available.
We use this information to:
- authenticate your account;
- create or link your account;
- maintain your login session;
- secure the Service and prevent misuse; and
- communicate with you about account-related issues when appropriate.
We do not control how Google processes your information. Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google’s own terms and privacy policies.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information we collect to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- authenticate users and manage accounts;
- save and sync user settings and tracker data;
- enable optional media uploads and related features;
- respond to support requests;
- monitor performance, diagnose errors, and maintain security; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Advertising and Donations
If enabled, the Service may display advertising from third-party advertising partners such as Google AdSense. Those providers may use cookies, similar technologies, and information about your visits to this and other websites to provide, personalize, measure, and improve ads, subject to their own policies and applicable law.
If enabled, the Service may also include donation or tip links through third-party services such as Ko-fi, PayPal, Stripe, or similar platforms. If you choose to make a donation or tip, the payment transaction and related information may be processed by those third-party providers rather than directly by us.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, donations or tips are voluntary contributions intended to support the costs of operating the Service and are not payments in exchange for memberships, promised perks, or other services.
Depending on the provider and your choices, we may receive limited information related to donations or tips, such as your display name, email address, donation amount, message, transaction status, or other information the provider shares with us to confirm or administer the contribution.
5. Storage and Retention
The Service may use more than one storage method:
- In preview or logged-out mode, certain data may be stored only in your browser’s local storage.
- In logged-in mode, certain account data, settings, and user-created content may be stored in WordPress user-specific storage or other account-linked storage.
- If image uploads are enabled, uploaded files may be stored in the site’s WordPress media library or other connected file storage used by the site.
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information:
- with service providers, hosting providers, or contractors who help us operate the Service;
- with platform or authentication providers when required to support sign-in or account security;
- if required by law, legal process, or valid governmental request;
- to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of the Service, our users, or others; or
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Service may use cookies, sessions, local storage, and similar technologies to:
- keep you signed in;
- remember settings and preferences;
- store preview-mode data in your browser; and
- support security, diagnostics, and core site functionality.
If advertising features such as Google AdSense are enabled, Google and other third parties may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Users may be able to manage ad personalization through Google’s Ads Settings and other applicable browser or consent tools.
If your site uses analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies, you should describe them here and provide any disclosures or consent mechanisms required by applicable law.
8. Your Choices
Depending on how the Service is configured and where you live, you may be able to:
- review or update account information;
- unlink or stop using Google sign-in;
- request deletion of your account or certain personal information;
- clear locally stored browser data directly from your browser; and
- disable cookies through your browser settings, subject to feature limitations.
If you unlink Google sign-in, we may retain account and Service records as needed to maintain your account, comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, unless you separately request deletion where applicable.
9. Data Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of your account or personal information by contacting us at contact@talltechtales.com or by using any account deletion tools we make available.
If you use Google sign-in, deleting or revoking access to your Google account does not automatically delete your account or content within the Service unless we explicitly state that it does. A separate deletion request to us may still be required.
We may retain certain information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, detect abuse, or maintain security records.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at [Contact Email].
11. International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than the country where you live, subject to applicable law.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service may link to or rely on third-party services, including Google sign-in, Google AdSense, Ko-fi, PayPal, Stripe, and other third-party account, advertising, hosting, or payment systems. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties, and you should review their policies separately.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version and update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after the revised policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.
